Bioclimatic design

  • Facilitation of the integrated design process
  • Passive solar potential
  • Natural ventilation
  • Renewable energy potential

Designing and constructing bioclimatic buildings is about taking advantage of the climate and the environment to maximize energy efficiency by recovering passive inputs and limiting leakage. Bioclimatic engineering provides higher energy performance than traditional buildings. A building designed according to these principles can reduce heating needs in winter and maintain a pleasant temperature in summer without the use of air conditioning. Such a building ensures the comfort and well-being of its occupants through the use of ventilation and natural lighting as well as the exploitation of the thermal mass of materials.

Martin Roy & Associés has extensive experience in leading-edge projects as well as in-depth knowledge of modeling tools to realize concepts that take advantage of a site’s passive solar potential, natural ventilation and available renewable energies. Martin Roy & Associés has completed many of the most innovative projects in Québec with respect to the bioclimatic approach and relentlessly pursues its mission of pushing the limits of what is possible in order to fully satisfy its clientele.
