The design team first reduced the library’s energy demand by applying passive strategies on the layout and design of the building, and then by integrating energy-efficient technologies. The results of the annual energy consumption savings of the building are around 78% compared to the reference building according to the CMNEB 1997 (National Model Energy Code for Buildings) and, with the energy production renewable, they are around 98.5%. In addition, it is possible to view live the energy produced and the energy consumed by the building.
